Why is Netflix Showing Suicide Mini-Series?

LIKE US ON FACEBOOKBy: Frankie P

The Netflix original series "13 Reasons Why" has me asking WHY?  Why would a global media giant such as Netflix be so negligent... I understand that suicide is a reality and my heart goes out to anybody that had to deal with this on a more personal level, it's a horrible thing.  Not only leaving unanswered questions, it leaves survivors asking why they didn't see the clues.  In most cases, there are no "clues" there is nothing that could have been done differently to deter such an act.

However we do have a choice, we can broadcast powerful messages that offer help and guidance to individuals who have suicidal thoughts.  In the Netflix mini-series, they offer no resources, they don't tell you how many lives are affected and changed forever, not to mention the number of impressionable young viewers that may be influenced and attempt suicide themselves or much worse succeed.

In my opinion, this is pure negligence on the part of Netflix!

In the mini-series, which is based on a young adult novel released a decade ago, high school student Hannah Baker leaves behind 13 tape recordings detailing why she took her own life. Her former classmates are left to piece together Hannah’s final weeks in a made-for-television mystery.

In watching the series, young people and teens could interpret the message that suicide is a viable and/or romanticized option. The show’s content is extremely graphic, with disturbing scenes in each episode, which may be difficult for impressionable minds to watch and process in a healthy way.
The series includes the following shortcomings:
  • There is no mention of behavioral health and treatment options
  • The notion of suicide is glamorized
  • There are no examples of help-seeking by the teens portrayed in the program
  • There are several scenes depicting serious trauma, in which the teens do not seek help or resources, including rape, bullying, alcoholism and suicide
  • The graphic portrayal of Hannah’s actual suicide was unnecessary and potentially harmful to young people facing challenges
If your child is in crisis and needs immediate help, please call 911 or the National Hopeline Network at 1-800-784-2433.

The 14 Fake Olive Oil Companies Are Revealed Now – Avoid These Brands

LIKE US ON FACEBOOK
Supposedly, even 70% of olive oil in the USA markets is fake, cut with cheap bad oils like sunflower and canola. This item is supposed to be healthy, but this is now corrupted. It was found that even 7 of the biggest olive oil makers in USA, mix their items with cheap oils to get more profits.

This is like the 2008 practice in Italy when 400 police officers were involved in the breakdown known as operation Golden Oil.  This meant seizure for 85 oil farms that mixed some percentage chlorophyll with sunflower and canola to the olive oil. The oil was mixed, colored, perfumed and flavored too, and these things made the Australian government investigate their own oils. The results were awful.

After that, not one brand named extra virgin olive oil got the 2012 certificate of approval.

This scam made the California University study 124 imported oils and found that over 70% of samples failed the tests.

Also, test the olive oil yourself at home. Put the bottle out when cold, or in the fridge for 30 min. if it gets solid, it is pure and has monounsaturated fats.

But if it stays liquid is fake and just in case, see the label approvals like Australian Extra Virgin Certified or the other one, California Olive Oil Council Certified Extra Virgin.

We think it is time to be healthy and stand against the fake makers of oil that add GMO and additives. Health is more worthy than money! Let us support the real health item producers and give THEM our money.

These failed:
  • Mezzetta
  • Carapelli
  • Pompeian
  • Primadonna
  • Mazola
  • Sasso
  • Colavita
  • Star
  • Antica Badia
  • Whole Foods
  • Safeway
  • Felippo Berio
  • Coricelli
  • Bertolli

These brands passed:

  • Corto olive
  • Lucero
  • McEvoy Ranch Organic
  • Omaggio
  • California Olive Branch
  • Bariani Olive oil
  • Lucini
  • Ottavio
  • Olea Estates
  • Cobram Estate

This Guy Got Lucky... "This Time"

I'm hoping that when this guy woke up he realized how lucky he was for not killing anybody, including himself.  It's just not worth it... with Uber and all the alternatives to NOT DRIVE WHEN DRINKING are available, why would anybody chance it.

Keep a tally on how many drinks you have and pace yourself.  You can still have fun and save some money in the process.

Noodles or Pasta?

LIKE US ON FACEBOOK

So, you’re Italian and it’s your turn to pick a restaurant to dine at, your friends suggest “Italian” why of course, you’re Italian so why would they think you eat anything other than Italian?

OK so here it goes… time to really show off, let your friends know that you know everything about Italian Cuisine, that’s right, you should because after all, you are Italian.

One thing you don’t want to do is call pasta “noodles.”  This is one huge indicator that you don’t know authentic Italian food and now your server can make shit up all night and you’ll never know.  Don’t give him/her that kind of power, you’re the Italian damn it!!! so take charge!

Mention the types of pasta by name, if you want orecchiette, Gemelli, or pappardelle, state it.  You will not only impress your friends, you may be offered a job at the restaurant.

Check out all the different shapes, names and description of all the "pasta" - I found this link and it's really interesting... Just when I thought I knew all there is to know about pasta, was I wrong!

Sophia Loren is the latest celeb to fall victim to a death hoax.

News of actress Sophia Loren's death spread quickly earlier this week causing concern among fans across the world. However, the April 2017 report has now been confirmed as a complete hoax and just the latest in a string of fake celebrity death reports.
At about 11 a.m. ET on Monday (April 17, 2017), our beloved actress Sophia Loren passed away. Sophia Loren was born on September 20, 1934 in Pozzuoli. She will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page.
Hundreds of fans immediately started writing their messages of condolence on the Facebook page, expressing their sadness that the talented 82-year-old actress was dead. And as usual, Twittersphere was frenzied over the death hoax.

Where as some trusting fans believed the post, others were immediately skeptical of the report, perhaps learning their lesson from the huge amount of fake death reports emerging about celebrities over recent months. Some pointed out that the news had not been carried on any major Italian network, indicating that it was a fake report, as the death of an actress of Sophia Loren's stature would be major news across networks.

On Tuesday (April 18) the actress' reps officially confirmed that Sophia Loren is not dead. “She joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimized by this hoax. She's still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet,” they said.

Some fans have expressed anger at the fake report saying it was reckless, distressing and hurtful to fans of the much-loved actress. Others say this shows her extreme popularity across the globe.

(ANSA) - Rome, April 12 - One in four Italian restaurants will not serve lamb this Easter, up from previous years, the FIPE catering group said Wednesday amid a campaign against lamb butchering by animal rights group.

Ex-premier Silvio Berlusconi has angered the meat industry by backing the campaign and adopting five lambs that would otherwise have been slaughtered.
